I'm a stickler when it comes to saving money these days. Soak your fabric in midly warm/hot water for about 15 min to remove any dye, swish it a bit. Rise with cold water and soak again in a tub of warm water with about 1 tablespoon of distilled vinager (1 TBSP to 1/2 Gallon of water). It won't stink, but sets the dye in your fabric.
